🟣🟢 Slow and Steady

😊 the secret to building wealth...

🌅 Happy Sunday 👋

If you’re feeling that the end of the year is rushing towards you far too quickly - you’re not alone!

This time of year especially, it’s easy to feel the pressure to get things done quickly - or worry about things that you haven’t got around to yet, like your financial plannng.

The problem is that if you already have a huge to-do list, it’s hard to get it all done. And that might make you worry that you’ve left it too late.

But I've been thinking about 'Quiet Compounding' - a concept that Morgan Housel, a financial writer and author of the bestselling book 'The Psychology of Money' talks about.

It’s all about how wealth can grow steadily over time. No drama, no fancy tricks - just like those giant sequoias that grow slowly but surely over decades. It’s about quiet, consistent growth.

Housel tells stories of people who built up significant wealth. They weren’t chasing the latest investment fad or trying to keep up with anyone else.

They simply saved, invested, and stayed focused on their own goals.

For us, that’s the key too: ignoring the noise, not worrying about what others are doing, and focusing on what we want for ourselves and our families.

Everyone’s situation is different. What works for someone else may not be right for you.

The best financial plan is the one that fits your life. So, if you’re putting money aside, investing a bit here and there - even if it doesn’t seem like a lot - that’s progress. It’s about finding what works for you, not copying someone else.

Housel also talks about how money can buy freedom, not just stuff.

And I think that’s something we can all relate to.

We work hard running our businesses, but the real value of money is in the choices it gives us - like having more control over our time, deciding which clients we want to work with, and being able to step back a bit when we need to.

Finally, there’s the importance of patience. I know it’s easy to get frustrated, especially when you’re comparing yourself to others or when growth feels slow.

But the magic happens over time. Wealth, like anything worthwhile, takes time to build.

It’s about getting through those tough times and letting compounding do its work - letting those small, steady gains build into something much bigger.

'Quiet Compounding' is really about keeping it simple.
